From San Marcos Record: Beacon Street was the theme for the "Carolers" pretty singing group from the Prairie-Lea Fentress School as they appeared Wednesday night before the Rotary Club to render a medley of Christmas Carols. The group has appeared for twelve consecutive years before the club and is under the direction of Mrs. Marvin Deviney who organized it fifteen years ago. One girl, now, Mrs. Pasty Munk Kimball, second from the left, has been singing with the group for eleven years. Others are Carolyn Munk left, Mrs. Kimball, Charlene Purcell, Pattie Hardemann, Darlene Cooley, Lela K. Hardemann and Mrs. Deviney. From the December 22, 1960, issue.

The diner was held at the high school cafeteria with more than eight hundred dollars raised for its youth development program. They are left to right – an unidentified Rotarian, John Flowers, Bob Winn, (hidden - George Martindale & Robert Knispel) Frank Taylor, Bill Franz, Hedrick Arnold, and Duane Satre. Every member of the club participated and their wives baked and furnished scores of cakes and pies.
