Photograph of four fire fighters putting out a fire that broke out at Alton Smithey's home on August 2, 1960. Two of them are on the metal roof, one is on a ladder with water hose while the last is holding the hose. From San Marcos Record: Fire fighters battle a blaze in the Alton Smithey residence on Moore Street shortly after noon Wednesday that gutted a part of the building and severally damaged the interior with smoke. The smoke spread from a back storeroom into the rest of the house including the roof. Cause of the fire at last report has not been determined. From the August 4, 1960, issue.
