From San Marcos Record: Liquid Love was the order of the day this past weekend as Mr. and Mrs. Bob Smith celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary underwater at Aquarena. The two were married in the same setting March of 1954. The cake wasn't soggy, it was made of Plaster of Paris.

From San Marcos Record: Several television cameramen in their search to put something different on the TV screens across the country, visited Aquarena Saturday to film sequences of Spring Lakes famous diving pig. Although several pigs have been used in the Aquarena show, this is the first time one has been enough of a hog to go underwater for corn.

The men were among 27 men and women graduate lawyers studying in the Academy of American Law and in the Law Institute of the Americas both located at Southern Methodist University. The group was on a tour of Texas to see the country and visit with leading attorneys and judges.

From San Marcos Record: The brass rail had its customers Wednesday as the Rotary Club members dined at Aquarena Restaurant and were guests of Paul Rogers and Don Russell for a tour of the attractions. Here is a scene showing activity at the bar in the frontier saloon (soft drinks here only of course) as club president Leroy Young tilts the jug. Bill Franz, Baptist Deacon, is at left. Bill Houck holds his glass for a snort while Chuck Jones, pastor of First Christian Church apparently tries to hide at far right.
