From San Marcos Record: Guests for Christmas Dinner, more than 100 of them in a local elementary school cafeteria this past Wednesday at noon under the sponsorship of the local Beta Sigma Phi. Here Mrs. Jo Thompson and Mrs. Caroline Parman, Presidents of the two local chapters serve some of the students who seldom eat at the cafeteria their turkey and dressing.

The Rattlers beat Abilene and Brownwood then lost to Killeen by eight points in the final. Left to right are Bill Overall, Jimmy Kasch and Henry Aranda, the three Rattlers named to the ten all-tournament team.

From San Marcos Record: The Wurst music in town was played by this spirited combo from New Braunfels as they visited Wuest's last week pushing their Sausage Festival. Leader of the Sausage six is Mayor Joseph Faust (with trumpet) while others are Adolph Oberkampf, H. R. Voges, Gilbert Zipp, Johnny Schnabel, and Harry Schmidt. The Sausage Festival, hope to become an annual affair, was termed an outstanding success last weekend.

From San Marcos Record: These were the palm trees originally planted at the post office when opened in 1910. When the post office was demolished to make room for San Marcos Bank and Trust, the palm trees were moved to Aquarena and placed by the pool. Paul Rogers was instrumental in saving the forty-five-year-old trees.

From San Marcos Record: Kindness and bundles of food, clothing, and toys were collected by the Hays County Welfare Department for redistribution to needy citizens of San Marcos during the month of December. Here three volunteer students are helping upload an assortment of items which arrived Friday afternoon.
