The Lion's experience proved too much for the young Jaycees as the latter dropped a hard laughed 2 – 1 decision. Proceeds went into the Pony League and Little League funds.

From San Marcos Record: Band Directors – Edwin Lyon and R.H. Miller have just completed a six-week summer band program for the junior high students. They are ready to enter the bus with 75 students on Friday morning, July 28th for a day at Landa Park. The band gave a concert on Thursday evening to climax the program, and after the outing at Landa activities ended until the fall semester. From August 3, 1961, issue.
