From San Marcos Record: "There were one hundred and one entries in the 4th annual FFA, FHA, and 4-H Club Stock Show and Sale held on January 29, 1949. Despite extreme cold temperatures and windy weather, the event sponsored by the Rotary Club was held at the used car shed at Scrutchin Motor Company as a record number of participants gathered to show their animals. Shown is Janice Hohenberg with her reserve champion Hereford and Dennis Goehring with his grand champion black angus." From February 4, 1949 issue.
