From San Marcos Record: One hundred eleven men and forty-two women bowlers participated in the first annual Guadalupe Valley Head Pin Tournament held September 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Bowlers came from the San Marcos and surrounding area to compete. Bill George took home first place honors in the men's division. Chris Hopper won the women's division. The Sports Mirror and San Marcos Record sponsored the event. From the September 8, 1960, issue.
