From San Marcos Record: Members of Senior Girl Scout Troop 9 are preforming one of their monthly stints at the Hays County memorial Hospital spreading cheer and doing small tasks for the patients. Pictured are Bertha Henderson, Peggy Rietz, Nancy Stanford, Bettye Joyce Reddell, Nawona Gary, and Albadelana Gary with Mrs. John Reed. The girls regularly to make tray decorations, write letters or run errands for the patient's comfort.

This is another of the branches of the Senior Scout Program and is under the guidance of Miss Idella Mae Fidler and Dr. Jean Smith. Enjoying the oarsmanship are Patsy McBride, Eveline Conrads, Susan Christman, Lucinda Conrads and Becky Davis.

Yard of the Month (Image 1961-366_012)

Description
From San Marcos Record: The yard of the month plaque has been awarded the yard of Mr. and Mrs. Don Ennis of Rogers Ridge by the Balcones Garden Club. The grounds are tastefully landscaped around as many natural trees and shrubs as could be left undisturbed. There is a profusion of yellow Jasmine, mountain laurel, and small bulbs mingled with fern. The gnarled old oak pictured above is one of the many fine trees in the yard. Much care, thought, and labor have been devoted to the Ennis yard which is deserving of its recognition.
