The color guard, newest members of the famed SWT Band organization plus the hard-hitting footballers will be among the featured attraction at the college homecoming this weekend.

Hillburn affixes his signature to the proclamation setting aside this week, October 23 – 28 in special observance of the local Lion's drive to help local children to better eyesight. The Lions will be selling candy Friday and Saturday to raise funds for the purchase of eyeglasses. Lions, left to right, are Hollis Smith, Bill Veidtt, Dexter van Bibber and Ellis Serur.

From San Marcos Record: Topsy- Turvy Playland – this truck carrying amusement rides from the State Fair to Playland Park in San Antonio overturned three and one-half miles north of San Marcos about 7:45 Tuesday morning. Driver of the truck L.C. Roden told investigating officers that the truck was loaded too heavily on one side and when a gust of wind caught the vehicle, he could not get it back on the highway. Estimates of $2, 500 damages to the truck and $2000 to the equipment were made. Roden was apparently unhurt.
