From San Marcos Record: The sixth annual Fishing Rodeo sponsored by the Sportsman's Club held on May 15, 1960. Two hundred forty – two people attended the rodeo and fish fry. Prizes were awarded in several categories along with twenty-five at large prizes donated by local businesses.
