From San Marcos Record: The 31 students from Bowie Elementary school's fifth grade class with teacher Mrs. M.B. Porter sent the queen a congratulatory card on the birth of her son, Prince Andrew. Only a few days later, the group received a letter back, written on Buckingham Palace stationary. Dated April 4, the letter read "I write at the Queen's command to thank you all for the kind message of good wishes which you sent to her Majesty on the birth of Prince Andrew. The queen very much appreciated your thoughts for her at this time, and her Majesty bids me to send to you all her most sincere thanks." The letter was signed Mary Morrison, Lady in waiting. From the May 5, 1960, issue.
