Roy B. Wilson (Image 1960-302_001)

From San Marcos Record: Roy B. Wilson, Jr., a candidate running for the sheriffs office and the people of Hays County. Wilson, a native of Hays County, was born near Dripping Springs, May 1925. He graduated from Dripping Springs High School in 1942. Entering the Marine Corps in 1943, Wilson saw combat in Saipan, Tinian and Okinawa during World War II. Later he served in the Japanese occupation force before his discharge from service in 1946. During the years since the Second World War, Wilson served as a Brand Inspector for the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. He worked with sheriffs of the many counties and Texas rangers in the discharge of his duties. Wilson lives with his wife, the former Doris Carson of Buda. He described himself as an independent candidate who was running for sheriff without the help of any clique or group. From the April 12, 1960, issue.
