Description
Exterior photograph of Forister's The Drugstore Cafe. From Wimberley View Newspaper: "Bryan W. Forister constructed Forister's Café and Drugstore on the square in Wimberley in 1947 on land once used as a horse corral with pig sheds in the back of the lot. J. C. Lane and J. D. Ragland did the exterior stone work for the building. The café was known for its good home cooking especially the chicken fried streaks. The drugstore handled a variety of dry goods in addition to dispensing medicine. Later, the restaurant became known as the Dinner Bell (1973) and Cypress Creek Café. On May 30, 2017, a fire broke out at Cypress Creek Café and it was totally destroyed. The exterior shell of the building still stands. "
