The San Marcos Gravel Company opened for business November 19, 1945 and could produce 300 tons of gravel an hour. The owners were C. S. Beauchamp of San Marcos and H. B. Ingram of San Antonio."
From San Marcos Record: Big bass were common Monday as fishing was resumed in the "slough" of the San Marcos River on May 1st after a three-month holiday. Dozens of good bass were taken as upwards of 100 fishermen lined the banks Monday and Tuesday. Here is Joe O'Bryant with a string he brought in early Monday. Some were taken which weighed at five pounds. From May 4, 1961, issue.
