From San Marcos Record: WHEN IT'S UP, it's in the treetops, this latest development of Jim and Ernest Cummings on their place on the San Marcos River. When the elder Cummings move houseboat from Lake Travis recently, for convenence sake, he and his son decided to meet the threat of possible high water damage by building a railway up the bank with a winch attachment that can raise or lower the boat when needed. WHEN IT'S DOWN, it's in the river. Cummings, who has several large pip-laying machines and other devices to his credit, decided to put the ramps on either side of his houseboat trolley to carry smaller fishing boats. The picture sequence shows Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cummings in the upland position of the boat on the left, the "Trolley" on its way down, and the fleet ready to go in the lower position.
