The race was run as a stunt to advertise the Jaycee donkey softball games to be played at Nelson Field Thursday and Friday night. The crowd of spectators got a great kick out of the race, as well as the antics of the animal ridden by Judge Ramsey, which beat the judge in by 20 yards.
