Note
Information provided by users of original Flickr collection: "On April 5, 1946, the$15,000 homemade mill built by Ernest Cummings at Valley View Farms went into full production. The alfalfa dehydration plant produced 12, one hundred pound sacks of meal in less than 60 minutes. The meal was for use in poultry and dairy feeds to increase the vitamin A and protein content. The advantages of alfalfa production were that it increased the nitrogen content of the soil and would go for 3 to 5 years without replanting."
