Note
Information provided by users of original Flickr collection: Observation towers at Wonder Cave opened to the public on March 30, 1968. The smaller of the two towers soared one hundred twelve feet into the air with the tallest tower reaching a height of one hundred sixty feet. An elevator located in the smaller of the two towers brought cave visitors from forty-seven feet beneath the surface to the observation deck. Through the use of telescopes placed at the observation deck, a person could observe the countryside thirty miles in all directions. Shortly after the grand opening of the tower, the owners of Wonder Cave held a contest to name the towers - the winning entry was "Tejas Tower' submitted by Mrs. Alma M. Galbreath. 2/ 8/1968. 3/28/1968 & 4/4/1968
