Description
From San Marcos Record: A shining example of the helping hands of San Marcans was Mrs. Henry Autrey, left, who housed more than 30 Hurricane Carla refugees and slept on the floor to provide more bed space. Kelly Shelton, second from the left, a college student staying at Mrs. Autry's house, helped her a great deal with the visitors, she said. Showing appreciation in their smiles are visiting refugees, Mrs. Caroline Morgan of Hitchcock, seated, Mrs. Madeline Russell of Alvin, and Earnest McCauley of Alvin.
