Note
Information provided by users of original Flickr collection: San Antonio based Butter Krust Bread Corporation opened a distribution center in San Marcos on Thursday, July 31, 1930. The distribution center was located on the square, two doors north of the First National Bank. In addition to three varieties of bread, a complete line of colonial cakes was offered for sale. The bread was delivered daily from San Antonio and guaranteed to be "fresh within three hours out of the baker's oven." During the 1940's and 50's, Warner Dalton was the local distributer. Lawrence J. Schulte and Bill Rosenthal joined the company in 1951 and 1958 respectively. Laurence was named top Butter Krust Bread salesman for the region in February 1962. The Butter Krust Thrift Store located at 521 Linda Lane opened in early February 1984. 9/21/1961 & 2/1/1962
